1. Robert Reily: abt 1735 Ireland-1786 South Carolina (Only 1

Spouse: ANNE. Clarendon Co., S. C., Sumter District.
"a Reily descendant recently sent me a copy of a letter written
in 1907 by J. D. Reily, grandson of Samuel Warburton Reily and
Martha McDonald Reily. I am copying the letter for your use on
My Southern Family. As you will see, the letter spells out the
names of the children of Samuel and Martha, gives dates, etc.
LETTER WRITTEN BY J. D. REILY TO WILLIAM BOATNER REILY
Centreville, MS
November 27, 1907
Dear Sir and Cousin:
In answer to your letter to my mother, who is 75 years old and
able (sic) to answer. I send you the records we have in the old
Bible. Grandpa Samuel Reily had 12 children, as you can see. I
have heard my father, Wesley Reily, say that Great Grandpa
Robert Reily came from Ireland to South Carolina and finally
settled here where I live now. I live in the house that he
built in 1820 and I am using water from the old brick well that
he had made. Grandpa Samuel Reily has 12 children and only six
left descendants. They were Isaac, Martha, John Y., Cantey,
Morgan, and Wesley.
John Y. I believe is your grandfather and Wesley was my father.
He (Wesley - gpm) had 13 children and four are living now. I am
the the only Reily living here in Wilkinson County. I would be
glad to have you come up and see me. I live two miles from
Centreville, Miss. and will meet you at Centreville any time you
will come.

Robert (O'Reilly) Reily- Born: in County Cavan, Ireland. Came to
America in 1764. Wife: Ann. Received 100 acres land- Bounty
given by Act of Gen. Assembly passed 25 July, 1761, in Craven
Co., S.C. Leased land in 1764 to Matthew Neilson in St. Mark's
Parish, Craven Co., South Carolina. Died 23 Nov. 1782, Camden
District, South Carolina. Father of Samuel Reily (04 Mar. 1767 -
12 May 1822).
Looking for any information in Ireland. Family. Name may have
been spelled different. But a direct connection.
Relatives that may have come to USA using a different name:
Parents, brothers, sisters (maybe married), Uncles, etc.
O'Reilly- O'Reily- Reilly- Rileigh- etc.
Did he come to this country from Ireland or somewhere else?
When did he come to USA?
Did he land in South Carolina or somewhere else.
What was Ann's maiden name? Where was she from? Where did they
marry?
Did they have more than one child?
Location of last residence and is his grave site known?"
