"A Samuel Perrill was born before 1750 & died before 24 Oct.

In Western Md. Newspaper Abstracts, 1799-1805, Vol. 2: On 5
Oct. 1894/Republican candidates for electors of President & Vice
Pres. of the U.S.: A long list of names mentioned, including
Samuel Perrel.
In Md. State Archives. Administrative accts. of Samuel Perril,
Sr.1818 Frederick Co. The 1st & final acct. of Samuel Perril,
Sr., late of Frederick Co., deceased. Money paid to a Philip
Perril. NOTE: Some think that Samuel is either the father, or
uncle of Philip.),
In the following article, info from the 1790 First Census of the
US is given. The article does not mention that BOTH Basil &
Samuel Perril are listed as "free white."
Also, in Skordas' Early Settlers of Maryland, there is this:
James Cranford - Transported 1678 - (Recorded) Liber (Book) 25,
Folio (Page) 515."
"Samuel(3) Pearl/Perril, Sr., surely a grandson of Robt.(1)
Pearl, was an adult by 1 Feb. 1771, when Samuel Perle reported
stray livestock in Fred. Co.* He married first, certainly before
1770,(--?--). In 1790 Samuel Perril was head of family in Fred.
Co., living near Basil Perril, his family composed of 2 men, 5
boys, 3 females, & 2 slaves.**
At Fred. Town Reformed Church on 16 Apr. 1799, Samuel Pearl &
(his son?) Alexander Pearl witnessed the marriage of James Pearl
& Priscilla Adkins***.
By deed dated 2 May 1799 Samuel Perrill of Fred. Co. paid 5
shillings to John Wilson, Jr. of Montgomery Co. for 30-acre part
oflot #2, part of New Bremen on main road from Fred. Town to
Noland's Ferry, adjoining Judburgh Forrest in present Greenfield
Mills locale).****
By bill of sale dated 26 Jun. 1799, Samuel Perrell of Fred. Co.
paid ?10.2.6 & 500 lbs. tobacco to John Eaton of Fred. Co. for a
coew, heifer, bed, kturners & carpenter tools, & all household
furniture in Eaton's possession, Perrell being security for
Eaton on 2 notes to Mary Luckett and Thos. Hill*****.
Samuel was head of family in District #1, Fred. Co., in 1800,
his household composed of himself & a woman aged 45+, man aged
16-25, boy & girl aged 10-16, boy age under 10, & four slaves.
By deed dated 30 Sep. 1802, Samuel Perrell (signed by mark), for
?16.10.l sold to John Compton of Fred. Co. a 3-acre part of the
first part of New Bremen******. His wife may have been dead at
that time, there being no dower release on the deed.
S. Pearl was head of family Frederick in 1810, living near P.

By deed dated 1 Aug. 1812, Samuel Perrell, Sr. (signed by mark),
for $140, sold to Nicholas Harmon on Fred. Co. a 14-acre part of
lot #2, part of the first part of New Breme_ (which he purchased
from John Wilson, Jr.), excepting 5 acres in the west end sold
to Sandy Downy & Lacy Adkins. No dower release.*
By deed dated 14 Dec. 1812, Samuel Pearl paid $2400 to Wm. and
Charlotte Herbert of Fred. Co. for 2 adjoining tracts: 9_ acre
Black Acre & 51-l/2-acre Gants Garden.**
Samuel Perrill, Sr., died shortly before 24 Oct. 1816, on which
day his relict Mary Perrill (signed by mark) released her dower
rights, stating that Samuel died seized of 2 pieces called Black
Acre and Gants Garden, 144-l/2 acres, & a considerable personal
estate, & that she released all her rights to his sons & heirs:
Samuel, John, Thomas, & Philip Perrill, on condition that they
return to her all the personal estate of which she was possessed
at the time she married Samuel Perrill, or the value thereof in
current money, and also $75.***
On 28 Oct. 181_ (son) Samuel Perrill entered his bond as
administrator of Samuel Perril, Sr.****
The inventory of personal estate was filed 6 Nov. 1816, and the
account of sale was filed 25 Nov. 1816.*****
The first & final administration account, naming son Alexander
Perrill, was filed 2 Oct. 1818.******
According to the 1816 dower release & subsequent land record:
Samuel Perrill had the following children:
l. Alexander(4) Perrill, m. Frederick Reformed Church 29 May
179_ Grace Beaumont; resided Dist. #1 in 1800; removed to Ohio.
2. Samuel Perril.
3. John Perrill.
4. Thomas Perrill.
