Philadelphia, yeoman, and Jacob Shoemaker, Jr., of Philadelphia,

He removed to Spotsylvania county, about 1720 and was for a
number of years presiding justice of that county. He died in
1730, having married about 1700 Elizabeth, daughter and heiress
of Gen. Robert Smith, of Brandon, Middlesex county.
