11. James4 Sadowski (Andrew3, Antoni2, Marcin1)1 was born 1748 in Douglasville, Berks County, Pennsylvania, and died 1819 in Bourbon County, Kentucky. He married Mary Ball Brown 1782, daughter of Thomas Brown and Mary Ball. She was born October 29, 1756 in Moorefield, Hampshire County, Virginia, and died June 1819 in Bourbon County, Kentucky.


James was a Captain during the American Revolution, he joined Count Pulaski's Polish Regiment of the American Volunteers. He was present at the surrender of Cornwalis at Yorktown. James surveyed in KY as early as 1774 making several trips and moved to KY in 1779 leaving the south side of the Potomac River, near Moorefield, Hardy Co. WV. He served with his brother, Jacob, as private in Bowmans Expedition against the Indians in KY.


James recieved a grant of 1,000 acres in Fayette County, VA (now KY) in 1783 and by 1791 appears in the Bourbon County, KY tax list and again in 1800 appears in the Bourbon County, KY tax lists.
