From a microfilm of tombstone inscriptions done by the DAR back
in the 30's, by the way. We haven't had a chance to go see if
we can find the cemetery, if it still exists. It's identified
only as "old cemetery, side of 31."

In the 1820 Census for Providence, Luzerne Co roll there are the
following Swartz's all together: John, Micheal, Phillip,
Baltzer, Jacob, George and Peter. All of these men are listed
as heads of household and all of them have lots of kids.
Micheal and Phillip are the oldest in age. They are both in the
boxes "free white males 45 and upwards". Some of this fits what
I have found on ancestry."
Census: 1870 Age 61.
