My other Pike county connection is the Bolian family they immigrated about 1839 from Germany and Switzerland. Joseph Augustus Bolian and Maria Gasar. Their son William Joseph married Sarah Anna Bullock. Does your family have any stories about being invited to Alice Roosevelt's wedding? Somehow my grandmother was never sure but the family is related to Teddy Roosevelt. His mother was a Bullock so it is possible but I've never been able to back it up with facts. Have a great day." Records on this family almost no existant in Virginia. It appears, however that our Mitchener-Mitchiner family did live in VA before settling in NC. Extensive efforts have proved very frustrating. This compiler went to England in 1955 and found
that there were many Mitchiners of many spellings of the name in Surrey and Sussex Counties. Came from England in 1654 to Virginia
