"In the years following the Revolution, Edmund was the proprietor of Taylor's Tavern, which served as the Taylor family home, a place of entertainment and accomodation for travelers, and a local public meeting place. Edmund's gravestone, still standing on the grounds of his tavern, reads "In Memory of Edmund Taylor 'The Honest Tavern Keeper' ".
