"The cemetery contains 86 known graves and numerous unmarked
graves. The oldest marked grave is dated July 11, 1809. The
patriarch and matriarch of the Adair Co. Breedings are buried
there; George in 1812 and Rachael in 1821. Both hand-carved
stones are still legible.
George and Rachael's oldest son was Peter."

BREEDING/BREDEN,CASSITY/CASSIDAY,BLAIR; Seek parents of George
Breeding, b VA ca 1740, and his wife Rachel Cassity. He was in
Augusta Co. 1751, Mongolia Co. VA 1782, Harrison Co. VA
(1862WVa) 1785, and Rachel paid witness in Hampshire Co. VA
(1862 WVA) in 1759. Their dau Elizabeth m Alex Blair 1774
Harrison Co. VA (not until 1862WVa).
The information regarding Gen. Robert Smith and the
transportation of 38 persons, including George Breeding, is
found on page 32 of Cavaliers and Pioneers. The spelling of the
name is interesting, as it dates back to 1667. The name, George
Breeding, shows up in King and Queen County in 1683 and 1704, as
well."
"John Breeding was son of Geroge Breeding, died 1811; married 13
Jan. 1789 Lincoln Co., KY, & Rachel Cassiday, died 1821. The
Breeding family was of Welsh descent."
