b. 20 Aug 1764 Sussex Co., VA; d. 14 Sep 1842, Wilson Co., TN;
m. 1796 Sarah Love, d. 1843. He resided in Sussex Co., VA during
the Revolution.
VA Line; applied 25 Oct 1832, Wilson Co., TN, age 80, born 20
Aug 1764, Sussex Co., VA. Moved to Wilson Co., TN in 1807;
brother Thomas Bonner, age 63, Madison Co., TN, in 1832, Soldier
died 15 Feb 1843 leaving widow (not named) who received final
payment on 3 Sep 1844
Goodspeed states that John Bonner (or Bouner) "participated in
the Revolutionary War." The Revolutionary War pension lists show
he was receiving a pension at age 76 and living in the household
of his son, John Bonner, in Wilson Co., TN, as of June 1, 1840.
"Minute man in Virginia [Records of Circuit Court, Oct. term
1832; Wilson Co. TN census of Pensions, 1840; Revolutionary War
Records, Washington,D.C.] He resided in Sussex Co. VA during the
Revolution.
