Notes

From: "Soules, Tim (T.R.)" To: "'[email protected]'" Date: Mon, 19 Nov 2001.
Josie,
I'm searching for information on Cornelius Soule. He is the third son on John Soule and Elizabeth Mitchell and was born on 1 March 1768, North Yarmouth, Maine. I 'm trying to establish if he could be the Cornelius Soule who is enumerated in the 1830 Federal Census for Town of Gerry NY. I saw your name on a bulletin board and thought I would give you a try. I would appreciate any help.

Notes

Susannah died suddenly in Jackson Co. AL. A Newspaper article stated she was vivacious and a noteworthy citizen.

in Athens, Limestone co. AL Betty Taylor sent a write up abt the little Methodist Church - we saw across from grandfather's house in Belle Mina. It will be on the tour - Spring Pilgrimage May 4th, 1997. She sent a neat pic - it is just so quaint - The article list our Lindsay ancestors as members of this church they were going to the church in Mooresville before this one was built in 1894. In 1911 the Belle Mina Church had 96 members and the Mooresville Church had 56.

The list of names of transfers to the new church include Laressa Lindsay, our gm, Fannie Lindsay and KATHERINE SCRUGGS WHITELY. also Dr. Nethery who bought the house from our grandfather Buck. Ben Lindsay and his wife, who was president of the newly organized Ladies Society. and the Bibbs, Bradleys, Pepper, White, Moore, Garrett, McDonald, Fletcher, Leslie, Malone, Harris, Sturdivant and others.

the 1870 census Limestone Co. listing for Scruggs has Alex H. Scruggs - 38, b TN, living in HH with Benjamin Glaze.
