Mother: Margaret "Peggy" RUCKER |
George McD's inlaws, the HIGGINBOTHAMS, are mentioned many times
in legal documents (wills mainly) having to do with George's
children. George died in 1821, leaving behind minor children in
the care of his father, Ambrose. The Higginbothams helped in the
minority of the children as the McDaniels passed away.
in 1839 John J.McDaniel sold to James S. Higgibotham, for $100,
the tract of land in Virginia left John by his grandfather,
Joseph Higginbotham. By this time, John had moved to Gasconade
(later Osage) Co., Missouri. His son, James H. McDANIEL, married
Polly GOODMAN, whose family had moved to Missouri earlier from
Pittsylvania Co., Virgiania. The McDANIELS and GOODMANS later
moved to Hill Co., Texas (about 1849). Frances married Phineas
H. HUSTED.
Their Daughter, Agnes (later Georgia Ann) married Henry Leonard
DAWSON about 1885. Georgia Ann and Henry's son, Odell ("Bill")
Dawson, 1913-1994, was my grandfather. I love meeting relatives
