"Rachel moved with her family and brother's dau Ann m. to John
Hodges, the Buckholts & Norwoods after the death of Abel abt
1800-1807 to Wilkinson Co. MS and the Feliciana Parish of LA.
Most surely sister of my William Standard.
After Abel Waddell's death, the family moved to the Mississippi
Territory and then to East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana along
with the Morgan and Miers families.
Standard Folder at Clinton, LA. Court House. Rachel died in
1826 Jackson, La. in her papers she appears to be a very wealthy
lady. They refer to her ownings as a mansion and a plantation.
She had cattle running in Miss. as well as La.
Rachel Standard Waddell's estate is dated: Jan 12, 1827. On Page
225,6; "Appraisal and Partition of slaves belonging to the
succession of Rachel Standard Waddell, dec'd, made by William
Silliman and Jeremiah Walker - there being four heirs.

(curator ad hoc appt for the purpose of representing the heirs
of Elizabeth Morgan, dec'd, in this partition) of State of

Rachel's children, Daniel Waddell and Rachel Waddell Frazier are
not listed.
Daniel Waddell died in 1821 and had no children - at least no
children were listed in his will. Rachel Waddell Frazier died
before 1826 and it is assumed that she also had no children.
More information can be found on Rachel Standard Waddell's
estate in the Morgan file. The children of Batson Morgan and the
deceased Elizabeth Waddell Morgan, appointed Batson Morgan their
representative in these proceedings.
There was no standard spelling in this time period - you might
find the name Waddell spelled three different ways (as above) in
one legal document.
On February 26, 1827, there is listed an Account of the Estate
Sale of Rachel Standard Waddell's estate. Purchasers were Elias
Norwood, James Stanley, Matthew Ramsey, Zachariah Waddill,
Batson Morgan, Noel Waddill, John Waddill, and David Pipes.
On April 15, 1828 further settlement of the estate of Rachel
Standard Waddell is recorded. "$274.70 - ¼ per share: Abel
Waddille, admr of estate of Noel Waddille dec'd; John Waddille,
Elias Norwood, atty-in-fact for Martha Norwood; Abel Morgan,
curator for heirs of Elizabeth Morgan, dec'd. "
At this meeting, Elias Norwood is representing his mother,
Martha "Patti" Waddell Norwood. He is listed as an attorney.
Rachel Waddell's son Noel Waddell is now deceased and Noel's son
Abel is representing Noel Waddell's part of the estate."
