"Nancy first married John Cole, M.D. on Nov 4, 1895 in Magnolia, MS and there were 6 children born from this marriage. She divorced Dr. Cole on May 25, 1926, then married Andrew Bridges having no children from this marriage.
Mr. Bridges owned a dairy which burned down. The author says from an interview with Ida Cole (Nancy's oldest daughter), "Ida remembered that they worked so hard to rebuild the dairy, and that she believed all the hard work led to her mother's death." It is believed Nancy died of a heart attack in her sleep, shortly after reopening the dairy.
Nancy is buried in the Smith Cem. in Clifton, LA. The author explains, "It is a small cemetary in the middle of a cow pasture. One has to pass through a man's gates to get back to it. The place is so peaceful and her daughter, Hyecine, is buried next to her, along with her second husband, Andrew."
