Possibly this was land inherited by wife as Cock's Mill Pond is

1728 9 Oct. Joseph Pleasants Estate Appraised and inventoried by
Obadiah,Luke and Edw. Curd.
1734 2 Sep p 467 He and wife Mary clear land title of Sale of 1
Apr 1723, to Geo. Floyd. In 1705, this was 254 a; assume 50a abt
1726 to Chas. Irby,CCC, VA.
1735 Vestry BK of Henrico Parish, VA 1730-1773. p. 30 List of
lands Processioned Robert Mosby amd John Whealer Processioned
his land, in his presence.
He and son, Luke, were associated with Edward Curd from
1704-1735. Edward Curd appears to be neighbor to Obadiah.
Obadiah signed his documents, "OS" except one with "O". Mary
used "M". Son Luke could write.
