The marriage record is all we have of our William & Polly at
this time. These children are an hypothesis of Wm's children
living near our gf Zachariah at the time of his 1st marriage
1835 in Madison, Huntsville, AL.
I keep remembering that Mrs. Pettus said the Lindsays were
related to the Roberts, Whitfields, Nelsons, Wilburn/Willbourne,
Hurst, Dements, and Isoms, but she could not tell me how any of
them were related. Most of that connection might have come
through the Harrisons rather than the Lindsays.
JOHNSON or WILLIS may be connect to our Wm H. & Polly. the
surname m. into Turner Clarke line.
This record shows a William who might be connected. "Annals of
Northwest Alabama", states a William Lindsey entered government
land in Section 4, Township 14, Range 7, on February 8, 1837,
Walker County Tract Record. Walker Co. is in the middle of
North Central Ala. It is bordered by Jefferson, Blount,
Cullman, Winston, Fayette Co.s The county seat is Jasper.
Walker Co. leads the state of Alabama in the number of times the
courthouse has burned. (4) Also Walker Co. was the home of Abner
Alvis, one of Henry's brothers.
Poss record of our Wm: John Smith's Book - Probate Judge's
office: Very old book that I found when I first started this
genealogy, in the basement of the courthouse. I wish I had kept
it because it has not been found since. It was very small and
had some details in it about surveys. John Smith seemed to be
one who called people to survey areas around the county. Either
it was lost or someone else picked it up and kept it. pg.53 -
ordered that William Linsay, Wright Whitfield, Ansil Whitfield,
James Sims and William Graner be appointed jury to survey and
mark a road from Pulaski ( Giles Co.TN) to Athens.
Some of our Lindsay's may have been in Jackson Co. AL:

The reason I can not see kinship of our Wm H. with David Lindsay
of Shelby, AL born PA. is that David was in E. TN by 1780, and
our Wm got m. in Augusta Co. VA. They might be related perhaps
David, but there is no indication they are.
