""his Majts Deputy Governor of Virginia Departed this Life on Munday morning Early and was Buried in Christ Church Chancell Middlesex County neare the Comunion Table"; following &c.
Src: Christ Church Parish, Virginia Deaths, 1653-1812. There are seven graves under the church. Sir Henry Chichley, Deputy Governor of Virginia, was buried near the Communion Table on February 9, 1682. Another grave is that of the Reverend John Sheppard, rector of Christ Church from 1668 until his death in 1683. The others are Madam Catherine Wormley, Aylmer Wormley, Edward Thompson and Mary Reeves and her son. The Thompson slab, now set in the aisle flagstones, was found under the floor of the church when the building was renovated in the 1920?s.""
