The State Hwy Dept working on FM1409 (where the Dorsett, Hodges, Fitzgeralds and Wisemans settled), has dug up 5 graves which are some of these people. One they are sure of is Francis Marion 1846. Temple (99)

The Wyatts of Virginia are of an ancient English family, of Norman-French origin; the name was originally Guyot, which in England became Wyot, and about the 13th century Wiatt; and later, when they came to America Wyatt. The family came into prominence with Sir Henry Wiatt, though it had begun with Admiral Wiatt, who lived several generations before. The ancestral home of the Wiatts, is Ailington Castle, Boxley Parish, Kent Co.England; which county is said to be famous for three things,

"First, its Ancient Abbey, where the 'Rod of Grace,' wrought miracles, in the popular fancy only second to those of St. Thomas of Canterbury;

second, Penenden Heath, where the Norman Bishops met to try Odo, the half brother of William the Conqueror, and Wat Tyler rallied his Kentish malcontents;

third the Wiatt family, who had their seat there for centuries; they became possessors of the Abby, after it was confiscated by the Crown."

There is a monumental inscription in Boxley Church, Kent Co., England, to the Wiatt family which states the fact, that the "Rev. Haute Wyatt died Vicar of Boxley Parish, and that he had issue living in Virginia." His line of descent, begins as all lines should, with Adam.
