"will administered in 1787. The Buford family were guardians of
Jeremiah, who was orphaned at age 11 Jeremiah served in the
French and Indian War. He was registered as Jeremiah, the
planter. He was a large landholder and divided his loand into 9
equat shares impartially distributing it among the families of
his 9 children.
Will written, 16 Jan 1786, exhibited for record 19 Feb 1787, but
appraised 26 Feb 1786, showing he died at 82, soon after writing
his will. Joel, the youngest son, was the only one who remained
near him. To Joel he devised his manor place and all hte land
adjoining, and made his executor."
