  2. +Ann CUSENBERRY

Notes

Aka: Quisenberry, Quistenberry, Chrisenberry, Cousenberry, Crisenbery, Cushenberry all spellings in various documents on the internet. ERROR CORRECTION: SeeID# 22301 Moses who m. Gatewood has been confused with this Moses see " p. 216; Mary died 1814 in Green Co. KY (Order Bk 6 p. 22) A suit was filed re heirs of Moses 7 Mary 20 Jan 1815 Green Co. (#5915) naming the 9 children: Forks of the Elkhorn by Darnell has this Moses confused with another Moses who moved to Bourbon Co. Ky and died 1792."
CORRECTION of original error in Elkshorn by Darnell: Edward Sanford Quisenberry of Logan Co. IL; Ann Quisenberry md. Vachel Lindsay (b 1768 d 1855) 22 Mar 1792 Paris, Bourbon, KY were all children of Moses & Mary Gatewood Quisenberry (WRONG PARENTS!). (It appears these children belonged to another Moses Quisenberry of Bourbon Co.at least Ann see LDs (AFN: 8N04-PS) shows Moses & Ann Quisenberry her parents, they b Westmoreland, PA.

The following is taken from url: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cusenbary/cusname.htm
"Two heads of household with the name Moses. These two families were mentioned in the Forks of Elkhorn book, where both families were incorrectly attributed to Moses Quisenberry. There is no proven relationship between the two families. We would love to solve this mystery!

The one clue to his origin that we have is the Petition of the Laurel Hills Residents, which places both Moses and the Lindsay's in Southwest Pennsylvania/Northwest Maryland in 1783 (someplace in the disputed land between Pennsylvania and Virginia, most likely in the Fort Pitt area).

Throughout Virginia in the 1700's there were both Cusenbary's and Quisenberry's, very possibly the same people. But none of the dates of the known families match our Moses and his family. Have any information? We'd love to hear from you!"
