I have been compiling my father's research. My 10-great
grandfather is Thomas Christian, the immigrant from the Isle Of
Mann. I have even visited the house in Jamestown Virginia where
he once lived. In our research we have determined he was married
to a Corbin, we do not know her first name. I have been
following the research done on the Isle Of Mann side. My father
says it will be difficult because a woman along time ago burned
the ancient history of Thomas's family on the island. We believe
most of that information is lost forever.From Treva Hilltreesh

Thomas Christian's parents were William MacCrystyn (1608, Isle
of Man-1664 Charles City Co, VA) and Elizabeth COLLIER. Couple
married in 1635, Ireland. William's father was Daniel MacCrystyn
(b. c1550, Baldroma, Ireland).

Thomas Christian's parents were William Christian and Elizabeth
COTTIER (b. c1614, Isle of Man). William's second wife was Sally
ATKINS. "There appears to be some confusion here as to which son
belongs to which father. Williams, Ewans and Thomases abound.
However, all records do agree that this family originated in the
Isle of Man (Baldroma?) and Daniel McCristyn is definitely the
Patriarch. It appears that most people of the Christian family
surname are indeed related. The Scot custom of naming certain
children after certain people in a certain order, seems to be a
custom adhered to by most Celts. William lived at Cherry Bottom
on the Chickahominy River in Charles City County in Virginia."
William's father was William Christian (16 Apr 1608, IOM-2 Jan
1662/3, Hango Hill, IOM), married to Elizabeth COCKSHUTT (d. 19
Nov 1665, IOM). Ewan Christian (b. 1579, Ronaldsway, IOM) is

Agnes is the former editor of the "Christian Family Chronicles"
I sent the evaluations showing that Elizabeth Collier and
Mildred Collier married William Christian and John Christian
almost one hundred years later than the information shown for
them. William Christian's second marriage was to Sarah Atkins.
Please notice that these marriage took place in the American
Colonies many years laters. Also, Daniel Christian's marriage
took place almost four generations earlier than the suggested
date.
