"Spouse unknown. "Richard sailed on the "Mayflower" owned by her Master Peter Andrewes, in her voyage of 1633-34 to Virginia from Gravesend. On this voyage, Roger JOHNS and Jacob JOHNS accompanied Richard, Sr. Richard returned to London on the same voyage with a cargo of tobacco. Roger stayed on in Northampton Co, VA and remained there as agent until his death in abt. 1652. He was a bachelor and had no known offspring.


Richard remained active in the tobacco trade and had some children with wife unknown. In a deposition he gave in 1634 before the High Court of the Admiralty regarding his treatment during the voyage of the "Mayflower", he acknowledged his age to be 42 and his residence to be St. Ethelburga Parish, Bishopsgate, London."


Roger Johns said to be father of the immigrant John: Roger JOHNS
