Notes

"Dickerson Wood left Virginia and joined his brother, Darnald Wood in Culpeper County, Kentucky after his father, Dickerson Wood died. Dickerson Wood’s other brother, William Wood [1773-1819], apparently stayed in Fauquier County, Virginia until he later joined many other Virginians leaving for Kentucky in about 1816.

Dickerson and Hannah had eight children: (1) Gabriel, (2) Elizabeth, (3) Polly, (4) Malinda (5) Amelia, (6) Fred, (7) Elias, and (8) Absolam. All the boys, except for Gabriel, went to Nakomis, Montgomery County, Illinois.

1795 December 10: A Marriage Bond was issued for the marriage of James Payne and Elizabeth Wood, daughter of Dickerson Wood, in Fauquier County, Virginia. ("Wood-Woods Exchange,", a Quarterly Devoted to Southern Wood and Woods Families, Volume Eight, January 1958, Number 1, page 16.)

1795 December 28: A Marriage Bond was issued for the marriage of David Cunnagy and Mary Wood, daughter of Dickerson Wood, in Fauquier County, Virginia. ("Wood-Woods Exchange,", a Quarterly Devoted to Southern Wood and Woods Families, Volume Eight, January 1958, Number 1, page 16.)."
