acres of land on Cowikee Creek, paying $15 an acre, and named
the new plantation "Good Hope."
Descendants include Maximillian B. Wellborn and Mrs. T. E. Kilby
Changed his name to John Horry Dent - John Horry Dent - South
Carolina Aristocrat on the Alabama Frontier - by Ray Mathis
(Professor of History at Troy State University); published 1979,
