Daughter of Rev Spence Grayson of "Bell Air" Prince William Co. VA, an Episcopal clergyman of noted eloquence and highly cultivated tastes, a graduate of Oxford in England and Mary Elizabeth Wagener, dau of Dr. Peter Wagener. She was a niece of the distinguished Colonel William Grayson, military aide to Gen Washington, afterward the first appointed Senator to our Federal Congress 1784, whose colleague was Richard Henry Lee, and who was also one of the framers and ratifiers of our constitution.


Many of her relatives resided in MS and LA.
