David M. Beck served in the "Caddo Rifles". This was the name
given to Company C, 4th Arkansas Infantry Regiment of the
Confederate States Army. He obtained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
He served from June 1861 to the close of the war. His
Confederate Pension application, dated August 10, 1899, shows
him to be, at 67 years of age, living in Zephyr, Brown County,
Texas. He had been a resident of Zephyr for 4 years. The pension
application was witnessed by C.D. Cabler, age 52, also a
resident of Zephyr. He had known David M. Beck since 1858 in
Montgomery County, Arkansas
They were the parents of Vivian Alvin Beck, Mary Cordelia Beck
m. Walter Thomas Finney, Harriet Elizabeth Beck m. Robert Lee
Finney, Joseph Preston Beck, David Sylvester Beck, Martha Ada
Beck, Missouri Lee Beck, Jonathan George Beck and Livica Emaline
Beck.
In 1860 David M. Beck was single and living in Montgomery
County, Arkansas. In 1870 he was married and had three children
still living in Montgomery County, Arkansas. The oldest Vivian
Alvin Beck was born on October 14, 1866 in Mena, Arkansas
according to his obituary.

David M. Beck served in the "Caddo Rifles". This was the name

have obtained a copy of his Confederate Pension Application. At
the time of the application, August 10,1899, at 67 years of age
he was living in Zephyr, Brown County, Texas and had been a
resident of Zephyr for 4 years. The pension application was
witnessed by C. D. Cabler, age 52, also a resident of Zephyr. He
had known David M. Beck since 1858 in Montgomery County, Ar."
"Zephyr, Texas Cemetery Survey Book revised on July 16, 2002.
The Cemetery Survey book has directions on how to find the grave
sites and is indexed by Surname and also by maiden name when
known. There is no maiden name given for Elizabeth E. Beck.
However the last name of Christopher has been given on the death
certificates of Vivian Alvin Beck, Joseph Preston Beck and David
Sylvester Beck.
