Text: Brother Henry of Bute County passed away soon after New Year's1776

(Ed. Pat Stevens) I have been given recently extensive rinformation on George and his descendents by Robin Kline, pp. cit., a descendant ofthe Berrymans. Some of it follows.

"Chotankers: A Family History" (1982) is a history of the Foote family. A recent correcttion was printed in "THE BULLETIN" of the Chester District Genealogical Society [ P. O. Box 336, Richburg, S.C.29729] Cont'd with son George Foote

George lived at first in St. Paul's Parish, Stafford Co, VA. Later he moved to Fauquier C, where he was at his death. He married twice. His second wife Mary is named in his will. The will was proved in FauquierCo, June 28, 1759. Legatees were his wife, and sons: William, Richard, Henry, George and Gilson, and his daughters: Elizabeth, Frances and Beheathland. he directs that his youngest sons Richard and William shall be educated. The others were probably grown. VMHB, pp cit pg 97

George's portions of his father's 25% of the 30,000 access of Brent Town fell in Prince William and what would later become Fauquier Co,West of Cedar Run. George's share included land on Champ's Run, north of Town Run, and other acerage on Cedar Run. For his home site he selected 295 acres within two miles of the old Brent Town on the Shenandoah Hunting path. There, a small community still existed and included in a few years Harding's Inn or "Ordinary" as inns were called, and Elk Run Church. (note from Brian Foote, rec'vd on Aug 11998, "PS".
