"Came from Pennsylvania by way of a stay in Culpepper County, Virginia. He built the historic tavern where the road to Midway crosses the old Frankfort - Lexington Road in Woodford County, Kentucky. The tavern is now maintained by a local historical society and has a historical marker stressing the Jesse James connection. As a popular stopping place for gamblers and politicians, the crossroad picked up the placename "Sodom."
