John Philip Fluck, Sr. entered Philadelphia with his parents and
three siblings on Oct 20, 1744 on the ship Phoenix, William
Wislon, Capt., from Rotterdam and Cowes. His name was written on
the Ship's listby a clerk as "Frederick (x) Flugh", mispelled by
the Clerk. He was 19 years old when he arrived. He and his wife
lived and farmed in Hilltown Township, Bucks Co. on about 160
acres (just south of Perkasie). Two tracts of land were conveyed
to him by Jacob Bernard, 30 Mar 1789, according to History of
Bedminster, Pauline Cassel, 1976.
According to Richard C. Fluck and Charles H. Price, Jr. 214
South Main St., Telford, PA 18969. Philip Fluck was active in
the community and the church; he served for a time as Elder of
the Tohickon Reformed Church. His name appears as the collector
of funds for the support of the church and the financial records
of the years 1768-70, showingy that Pastor J. Christopher
Gobrecht received some or all of his salary from the hands of
Philip Fluck. "Filip" Fluck's toumbstone there is Row A-15 old
section and indicates 55y 6m age. His will was probated in Bucks
County in 1780 (Bucks Co. Will Book No. 4, page 77) and provided
that his son, Christian, might buy the farm in Hilltown
Township, after the youngest minor child came of age, after
paying his other children, viz., John, Ludwick, Casper,
Frederick, Philip and Elizabeth what would be judged and allowed
to be just. So the heirs appointed John Heany, Ludwick Benner
and Henry Eckel to adjudge the value of the plantation. They
agreed on 900 Pounds and the heirs accepted the figure.
Elizabeth came of age on November 24, 1786, and on May 28, 1787,
the six children signed a release on the farm in favor of
Christian Fluck.
