Mrs. Catherine Hanson, daughter of Hugh and Margaret McCollum, was born in North Carolina, May 14th 1802 and died in Monroe county, Ga., April 26th 1872. Her parents moved to Georgia when she was a child. From 1818 to 1822 she made her home with the family of Rev. Micajah Thomas of Hancock county, Ga. At the age of twenty two years she married the Rev. Mr. Brewer, a local minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church. After fourteen years she was left a widow with four dependent children. After living a widow for twenty two years, she married Mr. Enoch Hanson, of Monroe county, Ga. J. J. Singleton
