Whereas it becomes the duty of all mortals to consider that a day of retribution must certainly take place & that we must sooner or later appear before the Judge of Quick & dead to give an account of our transactions here below, I Margaret Hambleton, being in a low state of body … do ordain & constitute this as my last Will … My body may be burried in the usual form without parade or ostentation.

My Daughter Susan now living with Mr. James McConnell by my intire heir, except …
to my sister Jane Cockfield, one dollar, six & a Quarter cents.
To my sister Sarah McCants, one dollar, six & a Quarter cents.
To my sister Martha Hambleton, one Dollar, six & a quarter cents.
To my sister Elenor Flynn, one Dollar, six & a quarter cents, &
to my Brother Robert Hamilton, one Dollar, six & a quarter cents, &
to my Brother Wm Hambleton, one dollar, six & a quarter cents. Also,
to my Brother Wm Hambleton's two sons John & William, thirteen Dollars each.
To my brother Robert Hambleton's Daughter Mary Matthews, thirteen Dollars.
The remaining part of my property I give to my Daughter Susan, which is as follows … the money that may be due to me from the Estate of my Brother John Hambleton's Estate, it being a legacy of fifty dollars per year.

Also, should I outlive my Uncle Abraham Matthews, I lend to the use of my daughter Susan my part of his estate. Should my Daughter die without issue, the whole of the property to be equally divided between my two brothers Robert & Wm Hambleton.
Mr. George McConnell Jr & John Gotea Jr, my Executors. 23 Feb. 1816.

Notes

Louisiana Soldiers in the War of 1812: NAME: Coney, William
RANK: Private; COMPANY: Baker's Regiment, La. Militia (Orig. under Coxey, William)
May be wife No. 2. if m. in 1813 she could not be the mother of his sons, William, Jeremiah, Joel Jackson, could be for Louis N. Also a John Coney mentioned. The house still sits on the land that was bought by William in Pike Co MS and is still in the CONEY name, the CONEY Cementery is on that land.

Jeremiah and Aquilla were taxpayers in Montgomery Co. GA in 1805-06. William Coney sold land in Laurens Co. in 1818; Joel and Jeremiah are in Laurens Co. in 1820.

Served in the War of 1812, as Private in Baker's Reg LA. Militia which was originally under Willam Coxey. Settled in the eastern part of Pike Co. near Holmesville. William and brother Aquilla went to Pike Co. MS sometime between 1800-1815. " History of Pike Co. MS", by Luke Conerly, p 114.

Rachal only is on Pike Co. Tax List 1825.
Mississippi Cemetery and Bible Records, pub. by MS Gen. Soc. has recorded Bible records of various Coney and related families.

William Coney left GA around 1818, Laurens Co. GA Deed Book F, p. 82 shows a land transfer from Aquilla Coney to William Coney on 11 Apr 1818; same land sold to by William Coney to William Albritton on 8 Oct 1818 (book F, p. 259). My gggf, Jeremiah Coney and a Joel Coney both were in Laurens County at that time. Jeremiah moved to Pulaski County in 1829, but Joel stayed in Laurens dying there in Feb 1853; Jeremiah died in Pulaski County in abt 1845-1846, and this William died in Pike Co. MS in 1848, so these and a John Coney who died in Montgomery Co. GA in 1849 could have been brothers. Aquilla 1st appeared in Montgomery Co. GA tax reocrds in 1795-97, but nothing else on him. Jeremiah born in 1772 and Joel in 1786.

William Coney was born 1767 in N.C. according to some Miss. records I have seen..
