Stubbs, Two Va Families, "Col Catlett's widow, Elizabeth m. in
1672 Rev. Amory Butler (Book 5 (1672-1676, p. 40). In Mrs.
Elizabeth Butler's Will, she named her children Francis
Slaugther and Sarah, John, William, and Elizabeth Catlett.
Her Will 1673 names son, Francis Slaughter, 4 children of John
Catlett, John, Sarah, Elizabeth & William; cousin or nephew Wm.
Underwood; niece or cousin, Catherine Booth; Bro. Humphrey;
Sister Pierce; Exec: Amory Butler, Sole Ex. and guardian of my
children, and cousin (nephew), Capt. Thos. Hawkins, my bro.

Sen. Jno. Dawson.
The will of Elizabeth UNDERWOOD Taylor Slaughter Catlett Butler,
dated 7 May 1673, and proved 16 Jun 1673, refers to "William
UNDERWOOD the Elder" (William UNDERWOOD, Sr., s/o Col. Wm.
UNDERWOOD & Mary (BURTON? MOSELEY?)) as her "cousin" (nephew),
thus documenting her as the sister of Col. William UNDERWOOD.
(Old Rappa. D&W, 1665-1677:136-43). Elizabeth UNDERWOOD Taylor
Slaughter Catlett BUTLER is documented as the same who was
daughter of Margaret UNKNOWN Underwood Upton Lucas by a series
of records (See Elizabeth UNDERWOOD).
Marriage: (1): James TAYLOR Bef 1652 1
Marriage: (2): Francis SLAUGHTER Abt 1652 1
Marriage: (3): Colonel John CATLETT 1657, , Caroline Co., VA 1
Marriage: (4): Amory BUTLER 1672, , Old Rappahannock Co., VA
"It is conjecture on my part that Elizabeth is the sister of
Thomas Underwood. She was married 4 times. Her 2nd husband
seemed to be a peer of her possible brother William in a 1656
Old Rapp. Co. deed. Her married names were Taylor, Slaughter,
Catleet and Butler. (C-2394) It's her husband's will (Catlett)
that definitely seems to connect her to likely sisters Mary and
Margaret as their husbands are mentioned as brother-in-laws in
his will."
