Edward GREGORY

ABT 1780 - ____

ID Number: I76108

  • RESIDENCE: Lunenburg, Mecklenburg Co.VA and Rutherford Co. TN
  • BIRTH: ABT 1780
  • RESOURCES: See: notes [S2783] [S2911]
Father: Joseph GREGORY
Mother: Mary Magdalene HERNDON

Family 1 : Frances SHELTON
  1.  Madison GREGORY

Notes

"Edward Gregory was born in Mecklenburg Co. Va, where five years earlier his father purchased land in the northwest corner of the county, in the Finneywood Creek section. The Gregory place lay on the south side of the South Meherrin River (the dividing line between the counties of Mecklenburg and Lunenburg) and a short distannce east of the county of Charlotte. Because of the location, there were neighbors and childhood friends in the three counties.
As a young adult, Edward apparently lived the bachelor life, farming with his father, and no doubt assisted at the mill on the river. .......It appears there is no extant record of Edward's marriage, which occurred when he was around 30. There is no evidence to suggesst that Edward was married more than once."
