M J Hatcher I authorize my wife to sign the above"
"John Brashears, b. c1795, was a s/o Philip Brashears, Zadock's
brother. John m.1. Sarah Martha Jane McCants (who is listed as
Mary in 1830). She died shortly after the 1830 census, and John
m.2. Catherine Shaffett. The Shaffett family kept good records,
but they ignored the seven children of John and his first wife.
I have evidence of them in the 1830 census, but no names.
(Shaffett gen Book written, but no info on John's 1st wife or
his children from that marrige is included.)
The 1830 census lists six. No names, of course, and Mary/Martha
must have died soon after the 1830 census, because John
remarried in about 1833. The children must have gone to
Mary/Martha's folks, for there's no trace of them in John's
household after the second marriage."

start taking orders for it now. $40 per copy, plus $3 postage
and packaging for the first book, $1 for each additional book.
