Revolutionary War, Spotsylvania County, Virginia, enlisted as a Private in Colonel James Taylor's Company. Reported to General Washington in 1775. This Company was part of Lafayette's Division. The last redoubt taken from Cornwallis was storned by Capt. Minor. At the review after the surrender, General Washington presented him with a sword. Granted pension by Congress in 1832. 1st Lt. 5th Virginia, January 1777. Capt. 2nd Virginia State Reg, April 25, 1778. Aide-de-camp to General Stevens of Virginia Militia in Yorktown 1781.


Thomas Minor raised a company and went into the Revolutionary War as Captain, serving seven years. In 1825, when Lafayette visited Fredericksburgh, VA Captain Minor was appointed Master Of Ceremony to entertain him. Some years later he attended memorial services held in Fredericksburgh, after the death of the Marquis, and died a few days later, in his 85th year, from illness brought on by the fatigue of the occassion.
