Carter is possibly from (I have not seen the family tree, goes back to the two brothers) Charles Anderson and Daniel Durham. Leonardo Andrea did a lot of research for one H. O. Durham in the 40's and HO finally published his own account to the LDS Church. The Clayton Genealogy Center of the Wesleyan College at Central, S.C. which is only a few miles from Pickens, S.C. has a file cabinet folder labeled Durham. (Elizabeth Webb was also researching this Durham line, and had received several letters from H.O.).
