Arrived abt 25 JUN 1684 on the Ship "Charles". John Darke was seventeen years old when he arrived in America with his mother late in June, 1684. Father: William Darke b: ABT. 1622 in Rysing, Camden, County Gloster, England; Mother: Alice.

"On 16 April 1666 John Gregory “of Hoskins Creek in the County of Rappahannock, Planter, out of and for the Love and affection I have for Thomas Edmundson” deeded 8 head of cattle to Thomas Edmundson. This deed was recorded in Old Rappahannock Co. VA 12 Feb. 1667/68.

On 16 April 1667 Thomas Edmundson patented 220 acres in Old Rappahannock Co., VA, adjacent to Killman, Burcham’s Branch and Green Swamp. [Patent Book 6, Page 231]

On 17 August 1667 Thomas Edmundson and Anne, his wife, sold _?_ acres of land to Thomas Gaines and Neill Peterson. One of the witnesses was John Gregory. [Old Rappahannock Co., VA Deed Book 3, 1663-1668, Page 292]

On 27 Sept 1667 Thomas Edmundson patented 513 acres on Perry’s Swamp in Old Rappahannock Co., VA. [Patent Book 6, Page 149]

On 5 Nov. 1669, Thomas Edmondson and Ann Edmondson witnessed a deed from Robert Clements to Thomas Harper.

On 21 March 1677/78 Thomas Edmondson (and Thomas Wheeler) witnessed the will of James Fullerton in Rappahannock Co., VA.

On 12 January 1684/85, Thomas Edmundson and his wife, Mary, witnessed a deed from Thomas Saddler to Richard Hayle.
On 28 March 1685 Thomas Edmunds and Katherine Edmunds witnessed a deed from Richard and Mary Haile to Richard Worsdall.
On 22 January 1685/86, Joseph Goodrich gave a Power of Attorney to Thomas Edmundson. This Power of Attorney was witnessed by Katherine Edmundson.
On 22 January 1685/86 Thomas Edmundson and Mary Edmundson witnessed a deed from Joseph Goodrich to Thomas Woods, Sr.

Note: These documents show that Ann, wife of Thomas Edmundson probably died no later than 1684. It is unclear whether there are two Thomas Edmundsons in these records, one married to Mary and the other married to Katherine or whether Katherine was not a spouse of Thomas Edmundson. If I have the dates right, it does not seem as if both Mary and Katherine could both be spouses to the same Thomas Edmundson.

On 20 April 1687 Thomas Edmundson patented 600 acres in Old Rappahannock Co., VA. [Patent Book 7, Page 550]

In 1699 there was in inventory of the estate of Thomas Edmundson in Essex Co., VA. It mentioned 87 books, 7 of these being bibles.

On 20 Dec. 1715 the Will of Thomas Edmundson (undated) was probated in Essex Co., VA. It was proved by Mary Edmundson (probable wife) and James Edmundson (probable son).

It is unclear whether Thomas Edmundson, husband of Ann Gregory, was the one who died just prior to 1699 or was the one who died around 1715."

Albemarle Co., VA Tax Lists: Averilla Foster was on the 1782 tax list , living near the Taylors, and she was gone in 1785. Edmund Foster had taken her place on the list.
