Culpeper Co. Deed Bk H 1775-1778 Pg 359-360 To all people know
ye that I DAVID YOWELL for natural love I do bear to my Son
James Yowell of County of Culpeper & Parish of Bromfd. as also
his the said James for and during the term of my natural life
finding me sufficient diet Claothing washing & Lodging
to give my said Son James Yowell his heirs forever my two
Negroes Ben and Bett with all my hous furniture to us of all
sorts stock of all sorts one Cow with calf & one Bed & Furniture
which
I give to my Daughter SARH JAMES it being the bed that she & her
husband now Enjoys also to my daughter ANN YOWELL one Cow and
Calf or Cow with Calf & one Bed & Furniture which she now uses
the said Cow & furniture it being the same he now uses & one cow
with calf at the time of his Marriage
to hold the above mentioned forever and further & agree that I
will at any time at the reasonable request of sd James Yowell
make andy further Conveyance that may by Law be required to pass
all my Right of the said Estate to said JAMES YOWELL this 19 day
of Augt 1776.

Presence ROBERT SHOTWELL JAMES RUSH At Court held for Culpeper
County 20th January 1777 This Indented Deed of Gift ordered to
be recorded.
Culpeper Co. Deed Bk I Pg 126-128 Know all men by these presents
that we DAVID YAWELL and JAMES YAWELL Son of the said David have
mutuall agreed with each
other for and in behalf of him the said David Intermarrying with
MARTHA TOMBLINS by and with the consent of his said san JAMES
and the same more fully appear aforesaid DAVID gave up his whle
Estate to the said JAMES with the Proviso that he would suport
and maintain him in a resonble manner during his natual life and
the same is of record in County Court of Culpeper bearing date
the 14 Aug 1776 and now since the said Intermarriage he the said
James has given up several articles which is in the actual
possission of him the said David
which he and his wife Martha is to have and enjoy during their
natural lives provided said Martha should not intermarry with
some person beside the said David Yawell her present husband but
in case she should intermary at the demise of the said David
that then she have one equal share of all said David shall
possess at his demise and to enjoy same dureing her natural life
and at her demise dispose of the same as she may see cause
amongst the children of her Son in Law James and her Son in Law
David and in the meatime the said James does promise with said
David and Martha that he will during their natual lives support
them in their distress as was formely agreed on by said James
and said David during his Life in Witness the parties have set
their hands & Seals the 17th day of Sept 1778.
