Aka: Hutson. "Winifred Hodgson and her brother John Hodgson received 300 Acers of land in 1676 from Thomas R Page. Thomas Page being a business partner of their father William Hodgson. While single minor women could not hold land. John held the 300 acres until it was given to Bartholomew Vawter at their marriage. This was found about 1997, the index to this deed dated 1690-1695 but nothing else. The deed was found and it shows John Hutson [Hodgson] gave 150 Acers to Bartho on 9 Oct 1690 but not recorded until 10 Feb. 1692 Essex Co.
