at 1 year of age.
ii. Annie E. Watts was born 05/01/1874. Annie died 08/10/1956
at 82 years of age. She married Oten Reynolds Pettyjohn
11/25/1896. Oten was born 09/07/1872. Oten was the son of John
Patterson Pettyjohn and Nannie Old. Oten died 01/13/1949 at 76
years of age. They lived in Amherst Co., VA. He was a farmer.
iii. Dr. Thomas Higginbotham Watts was born 12/31/1875. Thomas
died 06/09/1913 at 37 years of age. He married Bertha Marie
Shockey 01/05/1903. He was a medical doctor.
iv. Samuel Lee Watts was born 06/04/1878. Samuel died
10/05/1929 at 51 years of age.
v. Eva Harris Watts was born 05/27/1880. Eva died 04/15/1932 at
51 years of age. She married Levi Scoville Higginbotham
Staunton, VA, 11/19/1901. Levi was born Staunton, VA
08/09/1875. Levi was the son of Thomas Joseph Higginbotham and
Judith Ellen Scoville. Levi died 03/29/1937 at 61 years of age.
They lived in Lexington, VA. They were first cousins.
vi. Maggie Lou Watts was born 05/16/1882. Maggie died
11/22/1954 at 72 years of age. She married Edward Waller Scott
05/08/1907. Edward was born 07/28/1879. Edward died 10/08/1931
at 52 years of age. They lived at Emporia, VA.
vii. Ella Myers Watts was born 08/27/1884. Ella died 09/00/1968
in Amherst, Amherst Co., VA., at 83 years of age. She married
William Edward Meeks 11/12/1912. William was born 07/08/1886.
William died 11/03/1954 at 68 years of age. He was a lawyer and
judge in Amherst Co., VA. They lived in Amherst Co., VA.
viii. Charles Marion Watts was born 07/16/1886. Charles died
07/00/1963 at 76 years of age. He married Alene Armstead
05/30/1917. Alene was born 05/24/1890. Alene died 07/00/1972
in Lynchburg, VA., at 82 years of age. They lived in Lynchburg,
VA.
ix. James Henry Watts was born 08/27/1888. James died
05/20/1952 at 63 years of age. He married Nannie Louise Morris
08/30/1920. Nannie was born 06/17/1885. Nannie was the daughter
of Thomas Morris. They lived in Amherst Co. VA.
x. Lanora Jane Watts was born 02/04/1891. Lanora died
05/00/1972 Monroe, Amherst Co. VA, at 81 years of age. She
married D. Allison Barnette 09/01/1921. D. was born 03/09/1891.
D. died 12/18/1929 at 38 years of age. She lived in Amherst Co.
VA.
xi. Rufus Albert Watts was born 05/24/1893. Rufus died
04/00/1973 in Monroe, Amherst Co. VA., at 80 years of age. He
married Lola Delores Smith 03/25/1933. Lola was born
01/13/1904. Lola died 04/24/1995 in Amherst, Amherst Co. VA.,
at 91 years of age.
xii. Howard Yates Watts was born 06/11/1897. Howard died
07/00/1969 in Monroe, Amherst Co. VA., at 72 years of age. He
married three times. He married Virginia Dawson 07/24/1920.
Virginia was born 03/00/1897. He married Mary Clay 06/28/1940.
He married Frances Parr Myers 03/29/1948. Frances was born
06/09/1910. She married Myers unknown. They lived in Amherst
Co., VA.
On the 1870 Census, Amherst Co. VA there is a Samuel Watts, farm
hand, age 24; Wife Anna, age, 22; dau Julia, age 3; dau
Gertrude, age 1.
