Francis Strother was born probably in Richmond, now King George Co, VA. On Aug. I, 1727, Margaret Strother gave by deed to her son Francis Strother of Hanover Co., certain slaves with reversion to her grandson William Strother. On Jan. 22, 1745, Wm. Coleman conveyed to Francis Strother, of St. Martin's parish, Hanover Co., 583 1/3 acres, "Delmere, " in St. Mark's parish, Orange Co., near the county seat of the present Rappahannock county. Here he removed and settled close by his son John, and probably here he died. He married Susannah Dabney, of the Hanover family of that name, probably in that Co., where it is known his son John was born.

(2) William
(3) Elizabeth
