VA Mag. of Hist. and Biog. (ca 1897/8) 5:139-153: Thomas came to
Lower Norfolk Co. 1662 from Barbados and rec'd at least two land
patents including Patent Book 8:308. Page 141, Vol 5 of
McIntosh's Abstract book: their 2nd son, Anthony #5147 first
marriage to Mary #3888.
Will Norfolk Deed Bk 05:212 is listed on page 147-9 of Brief
Abstract of Lower Norfolk Co. and Norfolk Co. Wills 1637-1710
1914 VA Colonial Dames book (later called Vol.1?) by Charles
Fleming McIntosh. Lists children Thomas, Anthony, Mary, his
siblings, probably all of Barbados, Ann Chambers with her
children, other siblings, Robert, Margarett, Margery. Others
mentioned, the only significant one is apparently #3987 "unto Wm
Moseley Sr....unto Margarett Moseley the wife of Wm Moseley"
6 nov 2000 letter from Jane Stubbs Bailey 9502 Good Lion Rd
Columbia MD 21045-3948 citing Chowan Deed Bk W-1: 39 of 25 Feb
1702/3 and p. 66 of 29 June 1706.
p.39: Margaret m Hoffman abstract #77 mentions col edward
moseley of pr ann co VA only surviving executor of mr thomas
walke...merchant of co. of norfolk in Va. decd.
Will Druckenfield was to pay Moseley money at Walke's former
residence on Eastern branch of Eliz River in [Princess Anne Co.]
in Va.
p.66 abstract #134 says similar things but is much, much less
detailed;
Forsythe concludes that Walke and Moseley were basically
absentee owners of NC land. More importantly, there is no
evidence of a connection from the Princess Anne Co Va Moseleys
to the famous Col. Edward Moseley of NC who was ca. 1710
prominent in NC politics--IN SPITE OF THE FACT THAT COL. EDWARD
OF NC was at one time of edenton, chowan co NC--and reportedly
buried or a stone to him in St Paul's episcopal church in
Edenton."
