I am quite sure his parents names were Stephen Bryant and Mary Ann Green but WHICH Stephen Bryant is the REAL FATHER. Unfortunately we have two Stephen Bryant's who were born about the same time. I was taking the research of BettyJo Passey, who lived here in Mesa, Arizona, In this research she states that Stephan Bryant and Mary Ann Green were the parents of Augustus Gaines Bryant and his brothers / sister David Cherokee Land Lottery 1832 [Smith] pg 124 line 75 12th District, Second Section Cherokee Stephan Bryant, Sol., Blackstock's, Hall* Note All names marked * were granted previous to the first day of Jan 1838. Stephan Bryant, was a Soldier between the years 1784-1797 There is a J.S. Brand for a Union Sym. in Walker Co. Could be Stephen Bryant

Looks like our Stephen Bryant (1787 Powhattan Co, VA) was in Georgia by 1809 and stayed there until his death in 1871. He should be in the 1870 census and be about 83 years old in that census !!! "d. 1306, Scottish nobleman. He was called the Red Comyn, to distinguish him from his father, the Black Comyn. Aiding his uncle, John de Baliol, in the struggle against Edward I, he was for a time held hostage by the English. After the rout of the Scottish troops at Falkirk (1298), he was appointed one of the guardians of the realm. He renewed the struggle with Edward, but surrendered in 1304 on condition that he could retain his lands. He was murdered at Dumfries by Robert the Bruce (later Robert I), probably because Robert feared him as a rival claimant to the throne. "Kendal Castle was in existence by 1184 when it passed by Marriage to Gilbert Fitz Reinfred, and it was he who constructed it in stone. After that the castle had several owners: 1215 taken by the Crown; given back to William de Lancaster, son of Gilbert; 1246, Peter de Brus; 1272, the Roos family; 1383, the Parr family; 1553 the Crown again, then back to the Parrs in 1559; 1571 back to the Crown. By this time it was falling down. Not until 1813 was any work carried out to prevent further collapse."
