    He lived all his life in Leonardsville, NY, and was a leading citizen, prominent in business and highly respected socially. He was engaged in the business of buying wool and farm products. He was Sheriff of Madison Co., for one term. He and his two wives are buried in the cemetery at Leonardsville.

Isaac married (1) Nancy SCOTT on 25 Mar 1825 in Bridgewater, New York. Nancy died 27 Jul 1844 in Leonardsville, Madison Co., New York.

    Elizabeth Randolph, who was a dressmaker by trade, and came from New Jersey to New York. She survived him twenty years. Her family was prominent in New Jersey, and is said to have been a branch of the Randolph family of Virginia.

     His wife and her sister Lucy, who married Daniel Hardin, the brother of Dennis, were lovely women, beloved by all who knew them.

Eliza married Dennis HARDIN, son of Nathan HARDIN and Philena CLARKE, on 23 Jan 1832 in Brookfield, Madison Co., New York. Dennis was born in E. Hampton, Connecticut.

     He came to Leonardsville, NY, with his parents. For some years he conducted a general store in Leonardsville. He founded the Leonardsville Bank and conducted it until his death in 1875, when it was discontinued. He served one year as a member of the New York Legislature. He was a Justice of the Peace for many years, being popularly known as "Squire Hardin," and his openion on legal matters wea widely sought.

     He was a merchant running a general store in Leonardsville, NY; later he removed to Deerfield, Oneida Co., NY, where he married. Removed to New York, he became a grain and provision broker, and was for some time president of the Product Exchange. He was a man of fine personal appearance, of good education, and dignified bearing, being a veritable "gentleman of the old school." He and his wife are buried in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica, NY.

Erastus married Sarah LELAND. Sarah was buried in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica, New York.

940. Lucy BROWN (Isaac , Daniel , Daniel , Thomas , Thomas ) was born 1 Dec 1816 in Brookfield, Madison Co., New York. She died 3 Dec 1890 in Leonardsville, New York.

Lucy married Daniel HARDIN, son of Nathan HARDIN and Philena CLARKE, on 2 Apr 1840 in Brookfield, Madison Co., New York. Daniel was born in Plainfield, Otsego Co., New York. He died 11 Dec 1901 in Leonardsville, Madison Co., New York.

     He was at first the clerk and later the partner of his brother. In 1865 he became interested in the lumber and real-estate business in Saginaw, Michigan.  After the burning of his home in Leonardsville, in 1878, he removed to Saginaw, where he became wealthy and influential. He established the planing-mill of D. Hardin & Co.; was interested in establishing the Citizens' Bank of Saginaw, and was its president until he withdrew and became president of the Commercial National Bank. Two or three years before his death he built a fine home in Leonardsville, on the site of his former home, and here he died.

    All the names of the children are the same, expecially Hezekiah, who is my ggg-grandfather. Ziba died at 48, and she married Isaac Randall on 31 Aug 1817 and moved to New York.

     Hezekiah and Amanda, and several sons eventually went to New Baltimore, Greene Co., NY, which is on the Hudson River. Two sons bought a Ship yard and ran it for a while.

Hezekiah married Amanda SPAULDING. Amanda was buried in Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, New Baltimore, Greene Co., New York.
