By permission, the text below is excerpts from a book, The Colemans of North Hamilton County Tennessee by Cy Yarborough.
Editor's notes are my additions based on reports people have given me or I have researched - Wes Coleman

Mary E. Coleman (Tucker) was born on Walden's Ridge in what was then Bledsoe County, but what is now the extreme Eastern part of Sequatchie County, TN.  She was born around 1844.

She spent most of her childhood on Walden's Ridge then moved with her family to Putnam County, Tennessee.  There she married William Tucker.

Mary likely lived in Putnam County for the rest of her life.  It is not known when Mary or her husband died.

It is said they had several children.  Cy found a William H. Tucker and a "Margaret" E. Tucker in the 1880 and 1900 Putnam County census.  It is not certain if this is Mary's family but it may be.

(397) Mary E. Coleman and husband William H. Tucker had the following children:

(831) 1. Bettie J. Tucker b. 10/?/1868
(832) 2. Martha A. Tucker b. 1870
(833) 3. John W. Tucker b. 12/?/1872
(834) 4. Viney Tucker b. 1876
(835) 5. Mary Tucker b. 1877
(836) 6. William H. Tucker b. 02/?/1878
(837) 7. Oscar J. Tucker b. 08/?/1882
(838) 8. Fate Tucker b. 08/?/1884
(839) 9. Elmer Tucker b. 01/?/1887

Nothing else had been uncovered about the history of this branch of the family, as they were always in Putnam County and there was little contact with the relatives in Hamilton County.
