General Notes: birth date unknown. Ali died 210H in Uraydh (near Madinah), Saudi Arabia.
Ali Al-Uraydhi was born in Madina, and died in Uraydhi, a small village 4 miles outside Madina in 210H.He was know as Ali Al-Uraydhi, after this village. He was the head of the Alids (head of the descendants of the Prophet S.A.W. and the Headman of Hashemite (Bani Hashim) in Al-Uraydh. Ali Al-Uraydhi was devoted in his prayers, open minded, generous and a reputed scholars.
He had written a book on Hajj and another book on compilation of his various 'fatwas'.

34. MUSA*AL-KADHIM-7 (JA'FAR*ASSADIQ-625, MUHAMMAD.ALBAGIR-514, ALI.ZAINALABIDIN-45, SAIDINA*HUSSEIN-ALI-ABITHOLIB-3(RA)4, FATIMAH.AZZAHRA-2(RAH)2, Unknown1) was born in 128h, Abwa, Saudi Arabia, died about 799 in 183/4H, Baghdad, Iraq, and was buried in Kadhmain, Iraq.

General Notes: AlHabib Musa Al-Kadhim was born 128H. He died 183H in North of Baghdad, Iraq, at 55 years of age, and his grave lies north of Baghdad. He was called Al Kadhim, and Kadhim in Arabic means the one who conceals and suppresses his anger. An eminent scholar and very humble, Imam Musa Al-Kadhim had the divine qualities of concealing his anger. The Abbasaid monarchy was very concerned of his growing influence and popularity, and subsequently they imprisoned him for the rest of his life. He had 30 children, and the most distinguished among them are Ahmad and Ali Ridha,
He had 19 sons & 18 daughters. The most famous of his sons is his successor, Imam Ali Ar-Ridha (a.s.) and the most famous of his daughters is Fatima Kubra known as Masuma Qum who is buried in Qum.
His Titles
(These were used to avoid using Imams name as the very mention of it would lead to arrest, torture, harassment and/or death.)
-Babul Hawaaij (Door of fulfilment of needs). Even after his death people have their needs fulfilled and do not return empty handed from his shrine (Ask especially for cure of physical illnesses, especially eyes).
-Kadhim (One who swallows his anger). Imam Musa (a.s.) lived in an era when the rulers were the cruellest ever. Their hatred for the Ahlul Bayt and their followers was intense. Imam's followers were constantly harassed and tortured. The last 19 years of his life was spent in prison. Despite all these hardships, he was always patient spending entire nights in the worship of Allah. His character even converted the prison wardens towards him.
His Mother:
Ummie Hamida was a slave girl who was brought to Madina and bought by the 5th Imam for his son for 17 dirhams. The first thing that he told her was : "You are Hamida (the praised one) in this world and Mahmuda (praiseworthy) in the hereafter".
When the women of Madina used to come to AlHabib to ask masails he used to send them to Ummie Hamida saying: "Her answers will be those given by me".
Imam Musa Al-Kadhim (a.s.) was born in Abwa (a place between Mecca and Madina). It is here that Hababah Aminah (Prophet Muhammad's (S.A.W.) mother) is buried. Imam was born when his parents were returning from Mecca. As soon as he was born he did reciting Kalima Sajada.

MUSA*AL-KADHIM-7 married _UMMIE*HAMIDA .
