Of course, I love Genealogy!
I have been mildly interested in my family tree for about 15 years. Getting a
computer to store all the information on renewed my interest. I have a wonderful
Aunt, whom I can't thank enough for helping me get this far. We have been
contacted by many cousins, who have shared so much with us: Thanks.
My Mother has patiently
repeated every detail of her life for me to record. I have to added her stories
to my collection. Now I have to work on my Aunts and Uncles!
I now believe there are parallel
universes, like in the TV show, Quantum Leap or Sliders. How else could so many
Mary Green's be in the same place at the same time?!! And I'm not the only one,
there is even a mailing list at RootsWeb for those who believe their ancestors
came from outer space.

Crocheting
& Other stuff too
I enjoy crocheting almost as
much as genealogy. My most treasured items are doilies Aunt Mid gave me that my
Gramma Hoadley made. I like to crochet with thread making doilies, Christmas
ornaments, and other small things. I haven't been able to stick with a
tablecloth yet. Something else always catches my eye that I have to make right
away! I like old patterns best. I also love to make Barbie doll clothes, plain
and fancy ones. I would love to hear from other crocheters, and maybe trade some
patterns.
Some other things I like to
do include reading, gardening, trying new recipes, and generally loafing around
with the family.
I also like reading and writing poems. Here is my Poem
Page. Maybe someday I'll add some more that I have written.

My
"Pet Peeves"!!
TV! Yes, I spend a lot of
time with my trusty computer, but TV is really a waste of time to me. I do like
movies though. I think sleeping and going to the bathroom are a big waste of
time also, but I haven't figured out how to get around those.

One of my favorite quotes comes from Alfred D. Souza. He said,
"For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to
begin--real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way,
something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be
served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me
that these obstacles were my life," This perspective has helped me to see
that there is no way to happiness -- Happiness is the way.
Along those lines, I have a little card I carry in my
purse. On it reads "Happiness isn't getting what you want -- It's
wanting what you have."
Another favorite quote comes from the Hercules movie
Zero
to Hero -- "You can't be a somebody if you eat a nobody!"
Thought for the day: Work like you don't need money, Love like
you've never been hurt, and Dance like no one is looking.

This was our wonderful, loving,
companion Sacha Mahala. She was born 23 Aug 1997. On 19 Mar 1999 she was hit by
a car. We don't have a fenced in yard, so she was almost always put on her
chain. It was such a beautiful day and I knew Sacha wanted to run, so I let her
out but did not hook her up. I had planned on going out and throwing her ball
and playing with her after I finished up the chores I was doing. In a few, very
short minutes, a young girl came to the door and told us Sacha had been hit. She
died instantly. I miss her so much and cannot tell you the guilt I feel for my
own laziness. She was the best dog we have ever had.
Please have your pet spayed or neutered and Always keep them
on a chain or fenced in.
