In the book "Now You Hear My Horn", James Wilson Nichols says, "David Nichols, who married and lived
in Charleston, SC". It appeared he meant David married in
VA...but must have meant he married in VA and then lived in SC, since
the above records show they were indeed married in Henry Co., VA.

David Nichols b. 1775, son of
Solomon R. Nichols, was in Henry Co., VA when he married
in 1793, he then lived in Charleston, SC by 1795 after leaving
VA. He later moved to Franklin Co., TN after 1795 and before 1805
and settled at Pond Spring where Winchester, TN is now located.
About 1824/1825 he moved to Madison Co., TN along with his son, George
Washington Nichols; then about 1830 both families left TN and
moved to AR.
Birthplace of David Nichols's son, George Washington Nichols b. 1795
was SC. His son William Rowland Nichols b.1805 shows his
birthplace on TX census as TN.
Military History
David Nichols was wounded in the
knee at the Battle of Horseshoe
Bend in the Indian Wars of 1812 and 1813. In 1815, he was
at the Battle of New Orleans.

the Battle of New Orleans.

I believe this Terry Nichols to be a
nephew of David Nichols, Sr.. his birthdate is 1793 and David
Nichols, Sr. and Clarry Rowland married Dec. 1793. This and the
fact that a Terry Nichols that was a cousin of Geo. W. Nichols, son of
David Nichols, Sr. was in New Orleans after this family moved to AR
according to the book "Now You Hear My Horn", seems to substantiate
this theory.
I believe this Terry Nichols to be a
nephew of David Nichols, Sr.. his birthdate is 1793 and David
Nichols, Sr. and Clarry Rowland married Dec. 1793. This and the
fact that a Terry Nichols that was a cousin of Geo. W. Nichols, son of
David Nichols, Sr. was in New Orleans after this family moved to AR
according to the book "Now You Hear My Horn", seems to substantiate
this theory.
David Nichols, Sr. appears on a 1839
Izard Co., AR Tax List. Also on this tax list is his son, listed
as Roland Nichols ...
his other son, George Wasington Nichols had left Arkansas 1836 for TX but
William Rowland did not leave Arkansas until about 1847.
