George Daniell b.abt.1802 GA, Sylvania Pearce b. 1804 NC married George Daniell, George Daniell decendents

 

Descendants of (Elder) George Franklin Daniell

 

Many have searched to find the given name for the father of George F. Daniell.  I believe the father of Elder George Franklin Daniell is N.C. Daniell that appears on the 1839 Gonzales Co., TX Tax List, along with George Daniell.  In the journal writings of James Wilson Nichols is this account of the probable death of N.C. Daniell:

 

"The Commanche Indians went on a raid in 1840 with the intention of taking Texas.  "On the same afternoon (Aug. 6, 1840) the Indians approached Victoria. At Spring Creek above the town, they killed four negroes belonging to Mr. Poages. On the Texana road, east side of town, they met and killed Col. Pinkney Caldwell, a prominent citizen and soldier of 1836. They chased various persons into the town, killing an unknown German, a Mexican, and three more negroes. A party hastily repaired to the suburbs to confront the enemy. Of their number, Dr. Gray, Varlan Richardson, William McNuner and MR. DANIELS were killed....".

 

The 1842 Gonzales Co., TX Tax Lists shows George Daniell and a Hannah Martha Daniell.  N.C. Daniell had apparently died in 1840, leaving his wife Hannah Daniell to be listed on the Tax Roll, along with their son, George F. Daniell.

 

It has long been recognized that another George Daniell b.1783 GA, that moved to Texas by 1850 (Smith county, TX) was in some way related to the Elder George Daniell b.1802 of Gonzales Co., TX but the connection was unknown.  The Elder George Daniell b. 1802 performed the  marriage of the grandson of George Daniell b. 1783, George Thomas Daniell b.1829 GA, ... he was also administrator of estates of that line and they lived around each other for years.

 

If my research is correct, the N.C. would be Nathaniel Daniell born 1774, brother to George Daniell born 1783, sons of William Daniell and Rachel Howe.  The only thing known by other researchers about Nathaniel Daniell is that he was born March 18, 1774 and married a woman with the surname of Brantley.  This could be another marriage, or the surname of Hannah Daniell.  

 

The N.C. name could be Nathaniel Crumpton since the first son of George F. Daniell b.1802 GA and Sylvania Pearce b. 1804 NC was Aaron Crumpton Daniell b. 1833 AR, following the old naming patterns.

3           ii.   Martha Hannah Daniell, born May 28, 1827 in Hardeman Co., TN; died July 31, 1901 in Seguin, Guadalupe Co., TX.  She married Solomon Grundy Nichols, Dr. April 19, 1842 in Gonzales, Gonzales Co., TX; born June 24, 1813 in Winchester, Franklin Co., TN; died June 26, 1876 in Seguin, Guadalupe Co., TX.

        

4           iii.   Sharlott Jane Daniell, born 1831 in Hardeman Co., TN; died November 01, 1854 in Guadalupe Co., TX.  She married John F. Stansell May 18, 1852 in Gonzales, TX.

        

5          iv.   Aaron Crumpton Daniell, born 1833 in AR; died February 25, 1914 in Texas Confederate Home, Austin, TX.  He married (1) Barbara Jane Head September 24, 1857 in Gonzales Co., TX; born 1840 in MS.  He married (2) Mrs. Lucy W. Ray September 26, 1872 in Gonzales Co., TX.  He married (3) Sallie O. Winters October 01, 1882 in Hamilton Co., TX.

10        ix.   Omega Minerva Daniell, born March 16, 1849 in Guadalupe Co., TX; died November 12, 1909 in Williamson Co., TX.  She married Thomas Jefferson Williams November 27, 1871 in Caldwell Co., TX; born Abt. 1849 in AR.
