BARBER CEMETERY
On farm of John Dodd on the Old Dover Road in District #18 about 8 1/2 miles from Clarksville-- on hill behind house (some distance back).
We try to keep families grouped together. If someone's last name is listed, it means they have a separate headstone. If it is not listed, they are sharing a headstone with someone else. Sometimes
children are on the same headstone as parents.
Since we do not personally know these families, if we aren't sure of a relationship we list who they are buried next to. Any help matching folks with their relatives will be greatly appreciated.
The information is exactly as it appears on the stones. If you know the person's full name, please let us know.
On a stone slab the following is engraved:
BARBER Dorothy died Jan.12,1846 aged about 60 years
BARBER John died July ??, 1855 aged about 82 years
A vault, carefully made of dressed stone, notched and fitted, was said to be about 6 feet high, about 10 feet long and 12 feet wide, and several feet deep, was said to be in this cemetery. In the early 60's this cemetery was vandalized and destroyed.
