This O'Hara Township, PA War Memorial, which recognizes all men and women of the Township of O'Hara
who selflessly served our country in times of war and peace, in all branches of the US military
-- to preserve freedom for all --  was dedicated & photographed on May 30, 2008.

Among those present for the dedication of the O'Hara Township War Memorial was historian --  Mrs. Ruth Weir -- shown holding a copy
of the newly-released O'Hara Township history book titled "Portrait of an American Community: O'Hara Township, Pa.", of which
she was a major contributor, and two U.S. veterans, James G. Weir (husband of Ruth Weir, standing to left) and George Powers, born 1913 (seated).

Also present for the dedication of the Township of O'Hara War Memorial were:

(Left Photo, l-r) Tom Powers, local historian and co-author of the O'Hara Townshp 2008 history book
"Portrait of an American Community: O'Hara Township, Pa." and Randy Vulakovich (R) Allegheny County.

(Right Photo) Mr. & Mrs. Robert J. Smith. Mr. Smith is current President of Township of O'Hara Council.

Approximately 200-250 O'Hara Township residents attended the dedication ceremonies held at
The Township of O'Hara Municipal Building, O'Hara Township, PA on May 30, 2008. Below are candid photos
of the crowd enjoying refreshments which were served following the ceremony.
